Urbanrest Brewing: Craft Beers, Kombucha, and Food Truck Fun in Ferndale

Cool place! Needs more parking, though. A large, inviting space, repurposed from manufacturing days of yore. I can imagine my grandfather working in a building like this. Because he did, like so many of his generation in this area. The staff are super nice, friendly, offering samples of the brews. Nice to have food available, too. Since they're only open 4-10 p.m. (Tue-Thu. 4-12 a.m. Fri, 12 p.m. - 12 a.m. Sat, 12 p.m. - 9 p.m. Sun, closed Mon) being able to eat before/while drinking is a definite plus, damned near a necessity. Taste of Marrakech was here today. Got the spicy kafta sandwich. Delicious but a bit pricey - $13 + tax - for the quantity provided. More like an $10-11 sammich, really. 5 stars on flavor, though. They also had chicken Tajine with quinoa salad & bread for $20, quinoa salad alone for $10 & Basbousa cake for $8. Short, pricey menu but yummy. Love the wide open space, the pool and Foosball tables. Plenty of outdoor seating, as well. The beer is good too, if a little DIPA heavy - four on tap out of thirteen total beers & ciders - at the moment. I'll be looking forward to cold weather to try the stouts & porters. It's a bit loud inside but with the number of people present, the openness of the space, the concrete floors, it's not bad. Conversations will still occur easily.

The ambiance is very good and serves locally brewed beer which is there speciality. This place also hosts Local Variety Show, which makes it more happening place.

LOVE this place. Had a German food place in there tonight - so DeutschTroit! Some of the best German food I've had in ages, paired with Exercise in Restraint. Grabbed a Monstera+Beer mug hoodie too. Been before, will always come back.

I was there for an event and the place is has very cool, laid-back vibe! I had a Strawberry Kumbucha which was FABULOUS (for those that want non-alcoholic option). The two ladies at the bar were extremely friendly & knowledgeable!! Will be returning!!!

Dog friendly, kid friendly, private room party, lots of bathrooms parking and outdoor Seating. Bring your own food or buy something at the food truck. Bring yard, board games or cards. It's spacious and the beer is excellent. When we visited, the master brewer was sticking hot fire pokers in your beer to caramelize it. Pretty neat thing to try! Highly recommend trying that with the 90 Shillings. Very tasty as is but definitely try getting it caramelized.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Urbanrest Brewing Company is easily one of our favorite spots!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We love everything Urbanrest represents and promotes — a true community-driven space that’s dog friendly, family friendly, and filled with some of the friendliest people around. It’s always such a welcoming, positive vibe whether you’re there for a casual drink, meeting up with friends, or bringing the whole family (furry friends included!). Because Urbanrest is that fantastic, it’s no surprise they’re often jam packed — a testament to how much people love this place. Honestly, we’d love to see them expand into a building two or three times the size… and we know they would continue to thrive without missing a beat. On our most recent visit, they had two food trucks on site, which added to the already awesome experience. Great drinks, good food, a lively atmosphere, and a true sense of community — Urbanrest just gets it right. Can’t wait for our next visit!

Awesome place to get a beer, play a game and hang out. The interior is just awesome, and they also have a nice outdoor patio with quite a few tables. The beer selection is not huge, but it’s great to scratch the itch. We had a flight first, which made it much easier to pick our favorites. They had a food truck outside, which served all sorts of sandwiches, from Reubens to Grilled Cheese and Hot dogs. Very pleasant atmosphere.

This is a nice place. Big, lots of space inside and out. Nice selection of beer, I had two flights and liked every one. We stopped in mid-afternoon and the food truck was still setting up, 4 PM is the open time. Service was average, they seemed irritated that I asked a few questions when I sat down at the bar. Overall, a great place with good beer. The owner asked a question, I was there yesterday afternoon July 6, 2024.
